The Art of the Beard

Power • Wisdom • Masculinity

History

From the beginning of time, beards have represented Power, Wisdom, Status, and Masculinity. As time has evolved the Beard has served as symbols of honor and democracy.

During the 20th century, particularly in the 1970's, there was a Beard resurgence with counter-cultures and were then popularized by the hippie movement and musicians.

Today, beards have moved into all facets of life anywhere from the business boardroom to everyday tightly groomed men exuding confidence and significant elements of individual expression and identity, as well as a tool for attracting mates.

Grooming Tips

Wash Regularly: Use a beard-specific shampoo 1-3 times a week to remove dirt and excess oil, but don't overwash, as this can dry out the skin and hair. Apply Yes-Sir beard balm daily to keep the beard soft and healthy and to moisturize the skin underneath.
Use a Wooden Comb: Strongly suggest regular use of a wooden comb as they have smooth edges and are gentle on the skin preventing irritation and scratching. They train the beard hairs to grow in a uniform direction, which helps maintain a neat shape and style.
Trim Consistently: Regular trimming helps to maintain the beard's shape, encourage healthy growth, and remove stray hairs.
